Gear Review: Aether Space Hoodie

The Aether Space Hoodie is the original innovation that started it all for this Los Angeles based company. Think of it has a wind-proof jacket, a insulating layer, a hoodie that can compress into your hand and your best all-around piece of technical apparel. It’s clean minimal lines also ensure that you can wear it in a more urban environment without looking like you’re about to scale Kilimanjaro.

I’ve personally used and abused my Space Hoodie on motorcycle trips, fell into the pacific ocean with it on during the Channel Islands trip and stayed warm wearing it to the summit of Mt. Baker. I’ve truly never had a piece of clothing this versatile, so much so that I stuff it into my backpack everyday so I’ll always have it. Amazingly it doesn’t have a single rip or tear in it either after all those adventures. We at WC were so impressed with it that it was a part of the official uniform for the WC-002 Channel Islands trip.

Here’s a few of the technical specs:

  • 60 GRAMS OF PRIMALOFT® INSULATION
  • MICROFIBER RIPSTOP SHELL AND LINING
  • INTERIOR CHANNEL QUILTING
  • ATTACHED INSULATED HOOD
  • KANGAROO POCKETS
  • INTERNAL POCKET WITH AUDIO CORD VALVE

What this all boils down to is that it’s a super lightweight, wind-proof jacket that keeps you just as warm if it’s wet or cold.
