Scouting: Baja Mexico

[row] [col_6] [H]ere’s a collection of images from a scouting trip to Baja, Mexico. Baja lived up to all the stereotypes; dusty, hot, and epic. We started in Ensenada, BC and rode across the peninsula over to San Felipe. From there we blasted down the beaches of the Sea of Cortez and followed the coast all the way down to Bay of Los Angeles.

After taking in some incredible sunsets and nights spent sleeping in palapas on the beach we filled our gas tanks and as many water bottles with fuel as we could and headed for the Pacific. After passing the incredible oasis at Guerro Negro and riding through a 100+ mph sandstorm we got to Punta Abreojos and made camp for another night.

The next day we had to get to a friends bachelor party in a hurry so we blasted all the way from Abreojos to Ensenada in one very long 13hr 505 mile day.

In total we covered 11oo miles in 5 days on two vintage bikes that barely stayed together. The DR350 was burning a liter of oil per day and by Ensenada you could pull the chain off by hand. But this short little adventure was enough to convince us that Baja would make a great Wilderness Collective trip.
