BAJA MOTO PACKING LIST
Moto riders will be provided with a 30L drybag which your clothes, shoes, & toiletries will be transferred into. We will carry that in the chase truck
We are NOT camping on this trip so that is why the typical camp-related Wilderness gear is omitted from the list below.
Your luggage and any items you don’t wish to bring on the trail with you (IE: clean clothes for flights home), will be locked in the trailer and will be waiting for you after the trip.
Everyone always brings too much, trust us. If you pack what is on this list it will be enough to withstand Wilderness mayhem.
What NOT to bring:
- Firearms, Bullets, Knives (Double-check your luggage, even a bullet casing will put you in jail)
- Any drugs or drug paraphernalia are illegal in Mexico
- Any prescription drugs need to be in the original container with your name on it
Very important items:
- Valid passport
- Photocopy of passport
- Valid motorcycle license
- Photocopy of motorcycle license
- FMM visa (application link) use Horsepower Ranch Km 9 Carretera, Ensenada-San Felipe, Comunidad San Joaquin, 22842 Ensenada, B.C., Mexico as the address. Entrance Point: Tecate
- US cash for alcoholic beverages, souvenirs, etc. $100/day should be fine (ATMs are sparsely available)
- Let your bank know of your travel plans to ensure your cards work
Clothing
- 1+ pair of riding pants (MX or ADV style)
- 1 pair of casual pants for our lodging
- Mid-weight thermal underwear top and bottom
- 3+ moisture-wicking t-shirts
- 3+ pairs of riding/hiking socks (bring at least one warm pair in case temps get cold at high elevations)
- Warmer long sleeve top/layer
- Insulated puffy jacket (650-800 fill power)
- Waterproof/resistant shell jacket
- Swim shorts
- Lightweight casual footwear while at lodging
- Waterproof over-suit or hard shell jacket and pants (we could encounter rain)
- Layers, layers, layers
Accessories & Gear
- Neck gaiter/buff for sun, cold, dust
- Backpacking size towel
- Sunglasses
- Minimal personal toiletries: toothbrush etc
- Sunscreen
- Lip balm
- Eye Drops
- Motocross goggles (bring a clear and tinted pair or combo set).
