Drinks: Smoked Manhattan

Our good friends at Gin & Luck were kind enough to mix up a giant batch of Smoked Manhattan’s for the WC-003 trip. When you can’t have a fire, the next best thing is a fire in a flask. Here’s the recipe for the mixologist in you.

Smoked Manhattan:


  • 2 oz Buffalo Trace Bourbon
  • 1 oz Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 Dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Dash Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters


Combine ingredients without ice in a mixing glass. Using the Polyscience Smoking Gun and cherry wood chips, fill the glass with smoke. Cover and let stand until smoke has dissipated. Add ice, stir until chilled and diluted. Strain into flask if hiking. Garnish with a Luxardo maraschino cherry if you’re feeling fancy.
